Does reclaimed water have to be disinfected?
Arizona Administrative Code (AAC) R18-11-301 through 309 classifies reclaimed water into 5 class types A+, A, B+, B and C based on water quality standards for fecal coliforms. All reclaimed water classes except for Class C are required to be disinfected. Class C reclaimed water may be required to be disinfected if the water quality standards for fecal coliforms defined in AAC R18-11-307.B.2a or b cannot be met.
