Vaccines for K-12 School and Childcare Teachers and Staff

Over a 10-week period in early 2021, Maricopa County Public Health partnered with school districts to host COVID-19 vaccine events specifically to serve teachers and staff of public, private, and charter K-12 schools, as well as childcare facilities including home-based childcare sites. Each host district served eligible childcare teachers/staff and K-12 school teachers/staff whose facilities are within their geographic boundaries.

This great collaborative effort was recognized with a Hot Shot award by The Arizona Partnership for Immunization (TAPI) Daniel T. Cloud Awards on April 28th. We would like to acknowledge the fantastic work of our school districts and partners who were part of this extraordinary effort which resulted in 26,036 teachers, childcare workers and other essential education personnel being fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
