New Features of the Drainage Design Management for System for Windows, Version 3.5.2
To make it easier for users to access the help information specifically for certain functions, an "Info" button is added to each major window, providing more information about the functions on that window.
NOAA 14 rainfall data and ArcGIS functionality are available in Drainage Design Management System for Windows (DDMSW) 3.5.2 as compared with the older version DDMSW 3.3.2. NOAA 14 rainfall data was downloaded from the NOAA website (the publication date of the NOAA 14 grid file is June 14, 2006, and the publication dates of the NOAA 14 shape files are June 18 and June 19, 2006). NOAA 2 rainfall data can still be used in DDMSW 3.5.2. If users have ESRI ArcGIS software (ArcMap 9.0 or higher) and GIS shape files (sub-basins, land uses, and soils), the ArcGIS functionality of this software can be used to automatically estimate the Green-Ampt parameters.
If the project boundary shape file is available, the software can estimate the rainfall depth from NOAA 14. It also allows users to automatically estimate the slope for the Clark unit hydrograph method based on ESRI shape file that contains the length for the time of concentration path and the elevations for upstream and downstream ends of the path. However, the GIS functionality is an optional feature in this new version. The manual data input is still available as in DDMSW 3.3.2.
