Employee Benefits

Benefits Header 5.18

Open Enrollment is April 15 - May 10, 2019

Open Enrollment (OE) this year is passive. If you are satisfied with your current coverage (and don't contribute to a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)) you don't need to do anything. Your elections will automatically roll over. The FSAs and HSAs however, require you to make an annual contribution.

Other highlights for Plan Year 2019-2020 include:

  • Premiums will not increase! Even though the County’s medical costs are expected to rise more than $5.5M, the Benefit Trust will absorb the increase, so you don’t have to
  • You can choose your benefits anytime, anywhere via BenefitSolver, the new benefits portal
  • Three different pet benefit plans are being offered for the first time
  • The County will contribute $500 to an individual account, and $1,000 to a family account if you enroll in either the Cigna or UnitedHealthcare High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with Health Savings Account (HSA) medical plan
    • These short videos explain the HDHP and HSA

OE is your annual opportunity to review and re-evaluate your benefits to make sure you are enrolling in the plans that are best for you/your family. The OE web page houses a variety of materials to help you make your decisions.

Make sure your mailing address is current in ADP so you can receive any benefits information that is mailed to you.
