Weight Watchers at Work

Program Overview

This program rewards you and your spouse for losing weight and reimburses you if you meet certain requirements. The requirements for the program will change after July 1, 2018 and will apply to all sessions started after July 1. Also starting July 1, you can earn credit towards your Wellness Incentive after successfully completing the program.

The requirements prior to July 1, 2018 are:

  • Must be enrolled in a County-sponsored medical plan
  • Must attend the entire meeting for 7 out of 8 meetings.     
    • The first week weigh-in and meeting is considered week 1
  •  Must lose 3% of body weight by the end of the 8-week session
  •  Must submit the following materials to Employee Benefits (fax: 602-506-2354) within 90 days of completing the 8-week series:     
After verifying enrollment, attendance, and a 3% body weight loss, the appropriate information will be submitted to Payroll. The $104 reimbursement will be distributed via paycheck (reimbursement is considered taxable income). 

You/your spouse may attend additional 8-week programs, meet the program requirements and continue to get reimbursed.

  • Must attend the entire meeting for 10 out of 12 meetings.     
    • The first week weigh-in and meeting is considered week 1
  •  Must lose 3.5% of body weight by the end of the 12-week session
  •  Must submit the following materials to Employee Benefits (fax: 602-506-2354) within 90 days of completing the 12-week series:     

After verifying enrollment, attendance, and a 3.5% body weight loss, the appropriate information will be submitted to Payroll. The $156.00 reimbursement will be distributed via your paycheck (reimbursement is considered taxable income). 

You/your spouse may attend additional 12-week programs, meet the program requirements and continue to get reimbursed.

You may complete the Weight Watchers program at:

  • A County work site location. Call 602-248-0303 for locations or to enroll
  • A community location. Call 602-248-0303 
  • A combination of both work-site/community locations

Definition of a Dependent

  • A spouse and children ages 10 and up. 
  • Children 10-17 may participate in the program when accompanied by a participating adult, and with a doctor's note containing the child's goal weight.

Register by calling Weight Watchers at 602.248.0303. All class start dates and sites are subject to meeting minimum enrollment numbers.If a series does not continue because it does not have the minimum participants (a combination of in person registrations and online registrations) the joining fee will be refunded.

Earn Credit Towards Your Wellness Incentive (Starting July 1, 2018)

After you successfully complete the Weight Watchers Program and submit the required materials to Employee Benefits, you will receive a completion code. Use this code to to verify that you completed a "Your Choice" Activity on the StayWell Portal. 

  • Log on to the StayWell Portal
  • Go to the "My Incentive Page"
  • Click on "Your Choice" box 
  • Click on the "Weight Watchers" activity
  • Click on the "Report Now" button
  • Enter your completion code and then click on the "Confirm" button

The Weight Watchers/Your Choice activity counts as one out of three activities required to earn your Wellness Incentive.
